The sales team forms the core of any business. Since the sales people are the ones who represent a business in the marketplace, it is vital to choose the right people.

The first step in hiring a salesperson is to get a detailed job description done. It should have everything that is expected from the sales person such as the research work that should be completed before making sales call, the selling style, customer service responsibilities, record keeping routine etc.

Hire only people whose goals, philosophy, and ethics are in line with that of your client’s. Make a list of personality traits and test if each candidate possesses the required trait. Psychology based assessment tests can also help judge candidates.
